Sydney Harbour History Cruises
The latter history of Sydney Harbour since the first fleet arrived
is also vast and interesting. There were once 14 islands in our harbour
and with 6 attached to the mainland or incorporated with rock hewn
by convict labour, there are now 8, and every one has a story!
Did you know that Rodd Island in Iron Cove was used by scientists
from Louis Pasteur's laboratory, last century, for experiments to
control our rabbit plague? It was also used as a quarantine
station for Sarah Bernhardt's much loved and pampered pet dogs when
she arrived in Australia from overseas. Di has read many books on
the history of the colony on the harbour and is happy to pass on the
anecdotes and stories of our past to Watercolours' guests.

Several
clients favour a family
day out on Watercolours
with good 'old fashioned' activities away from electronic toys,
such as fishing, playing board and card games and a barbeque.
The kids really enjoy Skipper Yhanni's jokes and always seem keen
to come back!
