Australia Day Cruises
Australia Day is a terrific event on Sydney Harbour with so many boats
participating, and so much fun to be had, joining in the ferry and
tall ship races. The brightly decorated ferries pump out red
or yellow coloured 'smoke' and toot their horns in a blaze of effort
to be the first across the finishing line at the harbour bridge.
Spectator boats join in the rush from the eastern end of the harbour
to cross with the ferries, and then return to repeat the racing process
amongst the tall ships which let off their cannons as they race to
the finishing lines.

While some guests watch the racing from the shore, there is nothing
like being on the water amongst the action - not to be missed!
Having boosted the heart rate in the excitement, anchoring for lunch
in a quiet bay is a pleasant respite, this is to be followed in
the afternoon and evening by the flag parade, fireworks and concert
in Darling Harbour. A very memorable and thrilling day
out is to be had!
Michael
and his wife Wilma, bought Watercolours last year and together
with the family, several friends were part of the inaugural cruise. We
hosted an Extensive
Harbour Cruise
aboard Watercolours and it proved to be lots of fun taking
in the delightful atmosphere of the harbour and having our musicians
provide a great afternoon of entertainment!
